Hi folks, I’m Alex.
I’m the proud owner of SWCC (South West Camera Co.) and also the main Camera Repair Technician who inspects, repairs and services your cameras, and the cameras that you’ll see for sale in the ‘Shop’ section of this website.
I’ve been lucky enough to hone my camera repair skills under the watchful eye of a Master Technician in the USA and other experienced Technicians across the UK and Europe, and continue to broaden my knowledge across various models of cameras to ensure everything I do is to the correct standard.
When I’m not working on cameras, I’m a passionate film shooter (I only bought my first digital camera in 2024!) and really enjoy developing and scanning film at home - just don’t expect any works of art!

SWCC (South West Camera Co.) was established to provide an accessible and stress-free way of getting your camera repaired, or purchasing a camera, regardless of your level of film photography experience.
We are fortunate to offer repairs on a multitude of different makes and models of film camera, and are lucky to have specialists in both Nikon 35mm cameras and Pentax 35mm cameras
When SWCC was founded, we were based in Bristol (BS3) but now operate from a small village in the Cotswolds between Stroud and Cirencester, and take all repairs via post.
When you purchase a camera from SWCC, you can buy with confidence. All camera purchases are backed by a minimum 30 day warranty (further details in the Ts & Cs), plus you benefit from a free roll of film and 50% off development costs on your first roll!
As a minimum, all cameras we sell are inspected and fully checked for correct operation, using industry leading camera testing equipment - this means there’s no guess work involved!
