Each item will be described as either ‘checked’,‘serviced’ or ‘as-is’.

As a minimum, all ‘checked’ and ‘serviced’ items we sell are inspected, cleaned and fully checked for correct operation, using professional grade camera testing equipment.

Sometimes we can’t complete a full inspection or verify correct operation due to existing faults, these items will be listed ‘as-is’. These items aren’t listed frequently and are usually cameras we don’t typically work on.

Any specific known faults will be listed in the description of each item.

We don’t apply this rating system to any items other than Cameras, Lenses and Flash Units.

  • Items in this category will have been fully checked with professional grade camera testing equipment to ensure correct operation.

    Where required, they will be repaired and calibrated.

    Light seals and mirror bumper foams will be replaced with hand-cut Japanese foam where required.

    All items in this category will come with a 30 day warranty.

  • Items in this category will have received a comprehensive service which involves significant disassembly, cleaning, lubrication and adjustment of internal components including shutter speeds, as well as light meters and auto modes (where applicable).

    Light seals and mirror bumper foams will be replaced with hand-cut Japanese foam as standard.

    Items in this category will come with 60 days warranty.

  • Items in this category have not been able to be fully checked due to an existing fault, e.g. seized shutter so will be considered non-operational.

    Known faults will be listed in the description of each item.

    These items will not come with a warranty.

Cosmetic Condition

The Cosmetic condition is covered by the 3 categories listed below.

Every product image you see is of the actual item listed in our Shop, no ‘stock’ images are used, as images form part of our descriptions and condition ratings.

  • Items in this category will be in excellent condition and look/feel nearly new, with very minor wear.

    These items will be fully functional (besides any faults listed).

  • Items in this category will be in good condition, with small areas of age related wear/paint loss from normal use! This is our most common category.

    These items will be fully functional (besides any faults listed).

  • Items in this category will have heavier wear, such as dents, scratches, and larger areas of paint loss in places.

    With lenses, they also may have some imperfections to the optics.
