Introducing our ‘Built for You’ service, specifically for Nikon F3 film cameras - only available at South West Camera Co.
We understand that having the right set up is essential to produce your best work - so we’ll build one for you, customised to your specifications.
As Nikon F3 specialists, we can appreciate first hand how many different configurations are possible with these professional-grade cameras, be it with different prism finders, focusing screens, film backs and motor-winders.
We routinely offer fully serviced Nikon F3 film cameras in varying configurations for sale in our online shop, however these are in high demand and sell very quickly.
Due to the huge demand for our film camera repairs and film camera servicing from our clients, we can’t always maintain a fully-stocked online shop, but often are asked by clients if we can provide a fully serviced Nikon F3, built to their specifications - the answer is yes.
We have large numbers of Nikon F3s awaiting servicing before being listed on our website, and now are offering our clients the opportunity to choose the condition and specification, and we will build it.
Prices start from £400 for a fully serviced F3 with Standard DE-2 Prism & Standard ‘K’ type screen.
How does it work?

Choose the cosmetic condition you would like, the different options as listed on the ‘Condition Grading’ page of our website.

The Nikon F3 boasts 23 different interchangeable focusing screens!
All of our serviced F3s come as standard with the ‘K’ type (split prism) focusing screen.
However, we stock many others, and can source any other types available.
All of the screen types (with diagrams) are shown on this excellent resource. -
Choose from 5 different prism finders, all of which are listed here.
These consist of:
DE-2 - Standard Prism
DE-3 - High Eye Point Prism (good for glasses wearers!)
DW-3 - Waist Level viewfinder (as seen in various short-form content online)
DW-4 - High magnification viewfinder, perfect for close-up work and photomicrography
DA-2 - Action Viewfinder, perfect for when your view is obstructed by items such as goggles, or a helmet.

If you want to further personalise your setup, there are numerous accessories available for the Nikon F3 system, as shown here.
In addition, there is also the MD-4 Motor Drive, which advances and rewinds the film for you, can can fire up to 5.5 frames per second!

We will then provide a quote for the build specifications you have chosen, and advise on time scales - usually 2-4 weeks (dependent on whether we need to source any accessories etc).We will provide pictures of the camera that we have chosen for the build.
We will then send you a link to pay a £100 non-refundable deposit (deducted from the total amount you have been quoted), which secures the camera and allows us to proceed with building your F3 + sourcing any required accessories etc.
