Hasselblad A12 Film Back 6X6 for Hasselblad V Series (500C, 500CM, 501C etc) - *AS-IS*
Part of a larger collection that has sold, this A12 film back is now ready for a new home!
Made in 1974, this back resets correctly when the internal magazine is removed, the mechanism winds and stops correctly at frame ‘1’.
The darkslide is present and straight too!
The leather has shrunk like most of the backs due to their age, and will move around due to the old adhesive no longer doing much to secure it. You can buy replacement leatherette kits online for them! There is also some minor oxidisation inside present on the magazine as pictured, we would expect this to clean up easily.
As with most film backs for these, the serial number on the magazine inside does not match the back but this has not caused any issues for it.
Beyond this brief testing, we don’t have a Hasselblad to test it on (which is why we have listed it ‘As-Is’) but do not expect there to be any issues.
Like all equipment of this era, we recommend it is serviced to ensure correct operation. We also expect the light trap seal will need to be replaced as any original one will have perished long ago (we can offer this service for an additional £45, please enquire prior to purchase).
Condition Grading:
‘As-is’ (no warranty)
Items in this category have not been able to be fully checked due to an existing fault, e.g. seized shutter so will be considered non-operational. Known faults will be listed in the description of each item. These items will not come with a warranty.
‘Fair - Items in this category will have heavier wear, such as dents, scratches, and larger areas of paint loss in places.
With lenses, they also may have some imperfections to the optics.’
